8th May 2015
KS1 A very short week I know, but we have managed to fit in some important learning.
This week have been testing our scientific hand built weather instruments. This has been incredibly successful and you can see the results in the photos below. We have also been learning about the power of the sun, and what we use it for in our lives. Finally we have been learning about other prophets alongside Jesus, and other religions. We have started to find out about Muhammad, Islam and being a Muslim. Specifically this week being a new baby born into the Muslim faith.
- Here are some examples of work we will be continuing over the rest of the term.
1st May 2015 –
KS1 – Exploring, Planning and Creating Our Garden.
As part of our learning this term we are getting outside and learning all about the outdoors and gardens, as yet we don’t have much of a garden but throughout the term we are creating it as a work in progress. We have started by looking at the weather and what happens with the weather in our garden area at this time of year. We have been discussing, thinking, looking and observing. We have been making our own scientific equipment and using it to test the weather.
We have been exploring the work of an artist called Andy Goldsworthy who creates sculptures and art works from the nature around us, we have been crafting patterns and shapes using flower petals in a similar way to his Art forms.
